Here are some of the lovely comments we've had left from visitors to Nutcombe Cottage. Please see our other cottages for comments on Cider House & Nutcombe Barn

  • My dog and I had a lovely few days' stay here at Nutcombe Cottage over Lent half term. Very warm, very comfortable, and also ideally placed for lovely walks over Exmoor...thank you!

    — Nick C-J, 18 Feb 2024
  • Our second stay at Nutcombe Farm and as always the cottage is very well presented and comfortable. The scones were amazing and much needed. We visited the Wildlife And Dinosaur Park in COmbe Martin & Watermouth Castle, a few miles out of Combe Martin. So great to have 2 days of things to do that were so close. Thank you once again Jackie :)

    — Emma, Helen & James, 09 Oct 2023
  • Just come back from a week's holiday in Nutcombe Cottage. Lovely cottage, comfy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything is to a high standard. Lovely position just 10 mins from Combe Martin. Nice garden paddock for our 2 flatcoated retrievers if we didn't feel like going to the beach. When we came back from the beach with 2 sandy and wet dogs able to put them through a side gate and leave them on the decking just outside the lounge door until they were dry and brushed. Jackie and David were friendly hosts. Looking forward to our next visit.

    — Jenny & Peter Gribble, 06 Oct 2023
  • We've had a brilliant fortnight here at Nutcombe Cottage. The accommodation is of a very high standard and we found it to be a perfect bolthole for our stay. Really can't recommend this cottage enough. Already planning to come back and bring our friends. Best Homemade scones too!! Thank you so much!

    — Dominic, Sarah & Rafferty the dog, 22 Sep 2023
  • Warm welcome on arrival and scones were delicious. We had the most gorgeous weather so sitting on the patio, having BBQ's and reading was perfect. The gardens are beautiful and I couldn't resist an afternoon painting water-colour flowers admiring the beautiful views. We appreciated the secure garden for our dog too! For dog friendly places to visit: Arlington Court, Lynton & Lynmouth (inc a visit to the pasty shop was delicious (vegan/gluten free options too). There is also a dog friendly beach in Combe Martin to the left o the car park and main beach. Also recommend beautiful views of Heddons Mouth & sunset at Combe Martin and gorgeous Lorna Doone valley. We had the perfect week. Thank you. We will recommend and return again.

    — The Francis Family, 08 Sep 2023
  • The accommodation was lovely. It has been a great place to head out for adventures with the children and a much welcome refuge when returning in the evening. We took the coast path to the Valley of the Rocks and returned along the same path using the cliff railway at Lynmouth. I think the boys enjoyed the beach at Woolacombe the most and our eldest now has a mild addiction to body boarding. The food at the Sawmill was good but would really recommend the fresh mussels at The Rock in Georgeham. Thank you for the scones and jam!

    — Simon, Rebecca, Edward & William, 25 Aug 2023
  • Really lovely accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful location. We had a lovely week exploring the local area. Best bits were Dunster /Castle, North Devon Wake park for the boys. Best food: lovely Mussels at the Rising sun in Lynmouth. Best value Sunday roast at The Monkey Puzzle in Ilfracombe.

    — Jen, Steve, Josh & Tommy, 11 Aug 2023
  • We've had a lovely time at Nutcombe Cottage. Although the weather was quite and (and I had a broken toe) we had to stay in the cottage more than we would have thought but because it is so comfortable we had a lovely time reading and playing games inside.
The garden is beautiful and it was lovely to talk to David about the design and all the beautiful flowers.
Driving the coast way to Dunster Castle was amazing because of the views and nature. Dunster castle itself was also pretty amazing. Bossington is a very sweet village with thatched cottages and in Porlock the Wortleberry tearoom has very good homemade cakes. Thank you for lovely scones and homemade jam.

    — Paul & Sjanet, 04 Aug 2023
  • Had a fantastic stay at Nutcombe Cottage, the location was perfect, only a short drive to the coast and plenty of beaches. The cottage was set in stunning countryside and lovely grounds which we enjoyed walking round with our dog. The landscaped garden was also beautiful and full of colour and interest.
The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was useful having a 2nd fridge and extra freezer space, plenty of room to store our Tescos delivery. The bed was very comfy and the whole accommodation spotlessly clean from top to bottom.

    — Lindsey Bishop, 04 Jul 2023
  • Nothing but great things to say about our stay at the cottage. Jackie wwas a lovely host, very welcoming, easily contactable and full of great recommendations about the area. The cottage was lovely. It has such a nice bright and airy feel to it. Fully equipped kitchen and we loved the shower. The welcome cream tea was really nice touch from Jackie and really appreciated. We really enjoyed the Black and White chip shop and the lovely Saw Mills pub. All in all a great place and a great location to explore North Devon.

    — Nick, Mandy ane Nellie the Cockerpoo, 23 Jun 2023
  • We enjoyed a stay at Nutcombe Cottage in early June 2023 .
The cottage was immaculately presented and provided an excellent base for our long dog walks in the local area .
Coombe Martin to Ilfracombe along the coastal path , coffee at Storm in a teacup , lunch in the harbour,we caught the bus back !
Coombe Martin to Great hangman and loop back to Foscile for late lunch
Nutcombe to Heddons Mouth via the valley and Ladies Mile ,lunch at the Hunters Inn ,left car in the car park in the morning before we set off !
On thing to note is that most of the distances shown on web sites and Google maps seem to be a little short when we down loaded actual distances travelled they were considerably longer !! ( Hence the bus trip and leaving the car strategically placed )
Very enjoyable week and will revisit to walk the paths that we did not have time to explore !!??

    — Paul and Gill Edginton Blue ( cocker spaniel ) and Maple ( Fox Labrador) , 22 Jun 2023
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nutcombe Cottage. We ere very lucky to have beautiful weather all week where we were able to relax outside on the patio and admire the stunning countryside views. We absolutely loved Woolacombe beach and Putsborough beach as both were very dog friendly! We made sure to get there early to beat the crowds. We enjoyed a few evening walks in the countryside including walks around Arlington Court and a walk to Heddons Mouth. Thank you !

    — Denise, Amy & Hannah and Ruby the Vizla and Willow the Dashshund, 31 May 2023
  • The perfect place for a break for my sister and me. Extremely comfortable with fabulous weather and magnificent countryside. A real sanctuary. Jackie's home made gluten free scones were delicious as we were in awe of the garden that David has clearly put a lot of hard work and care into. We really appreciated being able to share this beautiful spot. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

    — Karen & Helen, 19 May 2023
  • A wonderful few days in this lovely cottage. Having visited north Devon as a child it was so amazing to visit with my own family and create more happy memories!
Clovelly is beautiful and well worth a visit. Woolacombe Beach is beautiful and a real gem of north Devon. Lynton & Lynmouth is gorgeous; unspoilt town with a fabulous Cliff Water Train and amazing views!
Nutcombe Cottage has been a lovely, cosy cottage to rest in at the end of a busy day. Peaceful and beautiful scenery. Thank you Jackie for the warm welcome of our Devon cream tea, it was a lovely gesture. We've had a lovely time and we will be back!

    — Stephanie & Neophitos, 20 Apr 2023
  • Lovely short stay at Nutcombe Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and warm. The cottage had everything we needed and more - one of the nicest holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended.

    — Wendy & Alan, 18 Feb 2023
  • Fantastic few days of rest and relaxation. What a gorgeous cottage. Very homely and comfortable. Lovely area, beautiful garden and grounds, amazing views of rolling countryside. Thank you for the cream tea, lovely surprise welcome!

    — Peter & Jan, 11 Nov 2022
  • We have had a lovely week in a beautiful cottage and farm. The garden is outstanding. North Devon is quite rightly an area of outstanding natural beauty with great beaches and towns to explore. The South West Coastal Path does not disappoint and is interesting to compare with the description of Raynor Winn in the Salt Path. Many thanks

    — David & Julie, 30 Sep 2022
  • First visit to this area and not at all disappointed! Weather has been kind. We enjoyed a visit to the Wildlife Park. We would recommend The Hunters Inn. Lovely cottage and sad to leave.

    — Jane & Stewart, 16 Sep 2022
  • We have had a nice relaxing week at Nutcombe Cottage. The weather has been terrible rain every day but we have managed to have some nice days out . The Valley of the Rocks is a lovely walk and a nice cafe for a cream tea afterwards. The steam train at Woody Bay and a walk at the end to Parracombe, the Cliff Railway at Lynton & Lynmouth is a must as is the beach at Ilfracombe Tunnels. You just need your waterproofs at times!

    — Jan & Alan, 09 Sep 2022
  • We have enjoyed a beautiful week at Nutcombe Cottage. The accommodation is outstanding and our cockapoo loved the garden and the dog walking field. The delicious cream tea on arrival was a lovely treat, thank you. Our highlights were the beach at Putsborough/Woolacombe/Croyde and using our SUP at Hele and Combe Martin. We also really enjoyed the cliff railway at Lynton & Lynmouth and the walk to Heddons Mouth. The Sunday Carvery at the Pack o' Cards Inn in Combe Martin was superb. Thank you Jackie & David for a lovely holiday.

    — Hall Family, 26 Aug 2022
  • We come here every year and always have a great time. We loved going to Ilfracombe. I went on the sea safari and saw dolphins and seals! We will be coming Back ( Daisy)
Thank you Jackie, we've loved coming here again although it did get scorching hot! We love Ilfracombe Harbour and spend hours there! its been nice going in the sea for a cool down (much needed)! :)

    — Astrop Family, 12 Aug 2022
  • This is our second time at Nutcombe Cottage. The cottage is in a great location for exploring North Devon. One of our favourite walks is Lynton to Watersmeet, returning via Countisbury and the coastal path. Would recommend Sheilas Reflexology if you are looking to treat yourself. So relaxing.

    — Kevin & Rachel, 01 Jul 2022
  • A great week with cool, sunny dry weather with a welcome cream tea much appreciated. We walked down to Combe Martin beach and back. Walked to Heddons Mouth and back which was lovely. We also walked around Ilfracombe (spectacular setting). Spectacular scenery at The Valley of the Rocks & Lynton & Lynmouth. We also cycled along the Tarka Trail from Braunton to Instow which was beautiful. A walk on Exmoor from Scub Hill/Hillsford Bridge/ Watersmeet/Rockford as well as from Simonsbath to Cow Castle which is a beautiful valley.

    — Byrne Family, 17 Jun 2022
  • We had a wonderful stay in your lovely cottages. The views are just incredible and we were so lucky with the weather. Thank you for the cream teas! x

    — Van Gijn Family, 03 Jun 2022
  • We can't get over the views, WOW!!! The cottage is delightful, clean, airy and well equipped. The grounds and gardens are impressive, can't wait to see the m finished when we return. We all slept soundly every night. Leaving here is very hard. to be able to relax and re-charge in such a wonderful environment is so welcomed. There are no negatives here, 100% positives, not to return again will be the only negative, we wish to see here in every season. The long arduous journey back to flat over-crowded Essex will be a sombre affair. Thank you Jackie & David, but most of all Thank You North Devon.

    — Simon, Catrina, Oliver, Shannon and Louie the Standard Poodle, 27 May 2022
  • We have had a lovely stay at Nutcombe Cottage. It is a well equipped, very clean, beautiful cottage. We especially enjoyed the gardens and the amazing views. Thank you for the cream tea on arrival, it was a considerate touch and enjoyed by all. Jackie and David were very welcoming and made us feel at ease. The aim of our break was to make family memories which we did with much laughter. Thoroughly enjoyed Ilfracombe, Marwood Hill Gardens and the Black & White Fish and chip shop.

    — Albertha, Yvette, Keisha and Asha, 20 May 2022
  • Thank you for a great week in this stylish, comfortable cottage. A perfect peaceful spot once we conquered the fear of driving up and down the lane! The tea and scones were greatly appreciated on our arrival and all the little details (tailored instructions for the cooker!) made it like home. We used it as a base to walk the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Woolacombe. Lots of great places to visit already mentioned but we really liked Exmoor Zoo and Marwood Gardens when not walking/driving. We can recommend the fish and chips from the Black & White chip shop in Combe Martin- wonderful after a long walk. Dunster Castle is very lovely if you adventure that far. The steam train at Woody Bay is fun and we did like Porlock Weir as well. Hope all your visitors have a great time as we have had. Thank you again

    — Jo & Carole, 06 May 2022
  • A super week in this lovely cottage. The quality and attention to detail is fantastic. A really lovely kitchen to cook in and a wonderful comfy bed at the end of the day. Thank David & Jackie for being perfect hosts and for a yummy cream tea on arrival. The gardens and dog walking field are wonderful to ramble around. Your hard work is much appreciated! We had many super days out culminating in a gorgeous walk from Withypool to the Tarr Steps (highly recommend lunch at Tarr Steps and a piece of cake at Withypool Tea Rooms. We will be back in the near future!

    — Steve & Sarah, 02 Apr 2022
  • We have had a wonderful time at Nutcombe Cottage. The cottage is warm & cosy, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing. The cottage is well equipped and we didn't need anything more. Thank you Jackie & David for the welcome Devonshire scones, jam and cream- a lovely touch.
We had a great time exploring the coast including sections of the South West coast path. We also had a wonderful walk on Exmoor starting at Malmsmead and walking into the Doone Valley, seeing hers of the wild ponies was a highlight.
Lynton & Lynmouth are definitely worth a visit. The esplanade fish bar was excellent for fish & chip supper sitting outside on the sea front.
The walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet is worth doing. We continued up over the hills and onto the coastal path and back to Lynmouth. Thank you for a lovely holiday Jackie & David.

    — Julie & Dave, 23 Mar 2022
  • A lovely few days at Nutcombe Cottage as part of a large party. So impressed with the standard of the cottages, every little thing seemed to have been thought of! What a wonderful way to spend Christmas. Views were fabulous when it wasn't raining! Great to get out when dry to Woolacombe Beach, Cliff top walks and dinner at the Pack o Cards. Look forward to coming back in drier times :)

    — Lindsay, Fraser, Bertie & Monty, 26 Dec 2021
  • Another lovely holiday in Nutcombe Cottage. Thank you for the welcoming cream tea. Third time here and every time has been a pleasure. Great scenery and lovely people. The cottage was as new and fresh as our first visit, all credit due to your care and attention. We look forward again to this years increased freedom and future holidays here.

    — Colin & Marianne, 22 Oct 2021
  • A lovely cottage with beautiful views. The hosts are fantastic with a stunning garden. a well needed tea and cones with home-made jam was waiting which was delicious. Many beautiful walks and beaches to relax on. Looking forward to coming back again, would thoroughly recommend xx

    — Richard, Cheryl & Bear, 14 Oct 2021
  • Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. We have spent every day out exploring the wonderful surroundings, but it was lovely to come back to the homely cottage to relax. We love your fantastic garden and looking at all the lovely plants still in flower and what a wonderful view it is!! Hopefully we'll be returning in the not too distant future. P.S. Thank you for the lovely, delicious scones you left for us. They were so yummy.

    — Mick & Jean, 07 Oct 2021
  • We couldn't have chosen a better place for our first holiday post pandemic with stunning scenery both here and in the local area. A beautifully equipped cottage inside and out with decking and patio and the peace and tranquility we were so hoping for. We loved seeing around your phenomenal garden and stole some inspiration from your planting. We thoroughly enjoyed days out on the coastal walks, exploring Exmoor and visiting towns such as Dulverton and Lynton & Lynmouth- so unspoilt and just as I remember as a child. However, we also enjoyed coming back to really relax here in Nutcombe Cottage with all the comforts of home. Thank you for all your hard work Jackie & David to make this lace such a comfortable, serene retreat. We will be back :)

    — Clive & Liz, 01 Oct 2021
  • A wonderful weeks holiday in such peaceful and tranquil surroundings. We enjoyed sitting in the sun on the decking and breakfasting outside. We also particularly enjoyed walking on Exmoor. a notable walk is from Simonsbath along the River Barle. We found the north Devon coastal footpaths too crowded, so preferred the less well-known paths of Exmoor (Staycation boom due to Covid). Portlock Wier and the remote Culborne church were also well worth visiting. Most of all, we enjoyed exploring the garden at Nutcombe Farm and appreciating all the hard work that has gone into making the cottage and the environment so comfortable and relaxing. It has been interesting hearing about Jackie & David's plans for the future and we hope to return to revisit Nutcombe Cottage sometime in the future.

    — Keith, Lesley and golden retriever, 17 Sep 2021
  • Nutcombe Cottage has been a perfect base for a most relaxing week. We especially loved coming home every day and sitting out on the patio. Star-gazing on the clear nights has been fabulous too! Our favourite walk was from Lynmouth up to Countisbury Hill, a toughish trek but well worth it for the amazing views. We also enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast in the Pack o Cards. Thanks Jackie for the cream tea on arrival and we particularly enjoyed wandering around your beautiful garden/ We wold love to return to see how much more you've done. Many thanks for all your hard work and extra cleaning too!

    — Lindsay, Andrew, Beth & Matt, 10 Sep 2021
  • We have loved our stay in this lovely, comfortable cottage. The view from the garden is picture postcard. The wildflowers at this time of year are stunning and we've loved walking different sections of the coastal path with the heather and gorse providing amazing colour. We loved Putsborough Sands (take a picnic as the queue at the cafe is long!), Morte Point, Circular walks from Lynmouth & Hunters Inn and scrambling along the Valley of the Rocks. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Black Venus in Challacombe. There are plenty of places to escape the crows and Nutcombe has been a retreat to return to each day.

    — Marion, Michael, Lucy & Katie, 06 Aug 2021
  • Returning to the tranquility of Nutcombe after days out has been a real pleasure! The cottage and surroundings exceeded our expectations and we're so pleased to have found it. Many trip highlights! Kayaking at Combe Martin, surfing at Croyde, Valley of the Rocks to Lynton coastal path, National Trust trailer/tractor ride to Morte point from Morthoe Museum where we saw seals, Woolacombe beach on an overcast, rainy morning (practically empty as a result!) Thank you for a wonderful week and for being so accommodating.

    — Rachel, Brian, Emma & Joshua, 30 Jul 2021
  • We have thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful stay her at Nutcombe Cottage which is beautiful and incredibly well kept. The views are stunning and the area is amazing. Our favourite beach was Croyde and we loved the town and coastal walks around the Croyde area too. We greatly enjoyed going to the Back Venus pub and the Pyne Arms which both had a wide selection of food and our meals were incredible. Visiting Lynmouth and the Valley of the Rockks and coastal walk and Lynton was a lovely day trip. What a fabulous time we've had and we've been blessed by glorious weather all week. It is a true gem! Thank you so much for all the extra details and care and the cream tea!

    — Amy, James, Ruby & Emily, 23 Jul 2021
  • We really enjoyed our fortnight at Nutcombe Cottage. Such a lovely relaxing place to stay with lots of different things to do around the area. For food we can recommend the Fox & Goose at Parracombe, and for a treat the Maiden Arch in Barnstaple. Will definitely be back in the future.

    — Kevin & Rachel, 02 Jul 2021
  • Wonderful stay at a beautiful cottage with stunning views and surroundings. Enjoyed the terrace for breakfast and dinner! Love this area and would recommend The Fox & Goose at Parracombe for evening meal. Lovely hosts!

    — Sally, Adam & Marcie, 03 Jun 2021
  • A lovely relaxing honeymoon after all the stress of planning a wedding during the pandemic. We were due to get married in 2020, and come here after for our honeymoon, but that couldn't happen due to lock down. So amazing to finally be married and enjoy our honeymoon in 2021 instead. Thnk you for allowing us to postpone to this year and for the lovely cream tea on arrival. What a nice old converted barn and a lovely area to stay in. Thank you for letting us postpone, so glad we finally were able ao enjoy it.

    — David & Eleanor, 07 May 2021
  • Lovely cottage to stay in. Cream tea was very nice on arrival. Recommend the Black Venus pub at Challacombe for a nice meal. Many thanks for everything.

    — Helen & Brian, 30 Apr 2021
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and sincerely hope that I will be coming back. The cottage is immensely tidy and I think that I would find it near impossible to fault this cottage. It is truly a wonderful place to stay. All the Covid 19 regulations put in place to ensure that we are safe during our stay here have been superb and I speak for my family as well when I say this - our stay has been brilliant!

    — Hannah & Matt, 18 Apr 2021
  • Thank you so much for having us to stay over Christmas. It was very special for us all. The cottages, Nutcombe Cottage and Cider House were so very comfortable. The Christmas trees and decorations added that extra special cosiness and comfort. Everything is the cottage was beautifully presented and superbly clean. Thank you very much.

  • Lovely comfortable cottage in a peaceful setting. Cream tea was a nice touch, especially the jam :). We love this are and come back year after year. We shall book to stay here again. Many thanks

  • We stayed in the beautifully furnished Nutcombe Cottage which had stunning views and a perfect location for exploring the north Devon coast. Jackie has ensured COVID-19 safety measures are in place and the cottage was spotlessly clean. Jackie was very helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed the lovely cream tea. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

  • Excellent week in an extra comfortable cottage. After 5 months of lockdown it was really reassuring to come to Nutcombe where Jackie had taken such amazing steps to make everywhere and everything so covid safe. Our favourite places to visit, though you are spoilt for choice, Heddon Valley walk to the sea. Watersmeet towards Lynmouth and the amazing beach walking from Putsborough towards Woolacombe. We ate at the Pyne Arms - excellent foodm well above average pub grub, reasonably priced (you must book). This has been such a quiet and peaceful place. Thank you!

  • We had a lovely week in such a beautiful and peaceful location. Nutcombe Cottage was just perfect for us - very comfortable and well equipped and we very much appreciated the cream tea. This has been our first holiday with our two rescue dogs and they have had a great time. We have particularly enjoyed:
Walking from Croyde to Baggy Point & Putsborough
Exploring the Heddon Valley to Heddons Mouth followed by a welcome drink in the Hunters Inn garden.
    Arlington Court
Saunton Sands - a huge expanse of sand where the dogs could run and run (doggy heaven)
Thank you Jackie for all your hard work in helping to keep everyone safe at this very difficult time. We look forward to coming back again

  • We had a wonderful week. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Cream tea on arrival was delicious and we were very appreciate of having such a well equipped kitchen' like a home from home. Thank you Jackie for all your hard work. We've explored quite a lot of the North Devon coast, having taken lots of inspiration from the Nutcombe website. Highlights for us included:
Putsborough beach - the dog LOVED it! Challenging lanes to get there but well worth it.
Walk between Lynmouth & Lynton over to Watersmeet and then up into the hills. Just beautiful:
Heddons Mouth, Valley of the Rocks, plus 1 hour Sea Safari on hte Ilfracombe Sea Safari
Eatin out - only did this once due to Covid at the Fox & Goose. The steak was good and the desserts!
We hope to return, next time with a group of us and hire out the 2 cottages next door too!

  • We loved our stay in Nutcombe Cottage, with its amazing views and great outdoor spaces. Cream tea on arrival was lovely, especially the jam :) and a great touch. We particularly liked our visits to Arlington House, Putsborough beach and cycling the Tarka Trail (well part of it). Our daughter aged 10 had a riding lesson at Deans Stables (5-10 mins away), which was very good! Hope to come back again, maybe with a group of friends. Thank you Jackie for all your extra cleaning x

  • We have had a wonderful week at Nutcombe Cottage. It is in a beautiful valley with lots of birds and the odd bat flying around, so very peaceful. We have been to North Devon many times but this time we have visited different places and done new things. We walked to Woody Bay, Heddons Mouth and from Morthoe along the coast path to Bull Point Lighthouse and on another day walked from Morthoe to Lee. Lovely fish and chips in Morthoe. We visited Tarr Steps (which is the picture on the wall behind the sofa). This was a walk beside the river. Bradley loved walking along the beach from Woolacombe to Putsborough dipping in and out of the sea all the way! Thank you bot. Nutcombe Cottage is a true 'GEM' and we will be back!

  • A lovely cottage and delicious jam with a welcoming cream tea. Its been a wet and cloudy few days but we had some good walks to Heddon Bay and around the grounds of Arlington Court. It was a shame we couldn't take full advantage of the local cafes, pubs etc due to the current COVID19 uncertainty but we'd like to come again when everything is sunnier. Thank you Jackie & David for being such good hosts.

    — Mick & Val and Charlie the dog, 20 Mar 2020
  • Thank you for a lovely stay. The cottage was beautiful and very comfy and the surroundings beautiful too. Enjoy the gifts we left as a thank you. :)

    — James, Adele & Poppie & Teddy the dog, 01 Jan 2020
  • We loved our stay at this cosy cottage. Everything in the cottage was perfect and to a very high standard. The homemade scones and jam were the perfect welcome after a long drive. Thank you for our stay. P.S. The dog tags, bowls etc were appreciated. Gus (the dog) loved his first time at the seaside :)

    — Andersons & Gus the dog, 31 Oct 2019
  • We all had a wonderful time. The cottage is just as lovely as it was last year. We look forward to coming again.

    — Thompsons, 25 Oct 2019
  • We've had a wonderful time and have been so pleased with the cottage. It's really comfortable and well equipped. It's given us easy access to many of the lovely beaches fairly near by. We've had some very good meals too. Lesley's favourite was the Fox & goose in Parracombe despite our initial hesitation as we parked opposite. It;s an odd looking place but the interior is much better and good (steak) was good. Colins favourite meal was the Sunday roast at Sawmills in Berrynarbor. The beef was superb. We will be recommending Nutcombe to family and Friends. P.S. The spring water is a real bonus. It made our tea taste fantastic and showering in it was superb. Ralph drank it copiously and he is very fussy!

    — Lesley & Colin & Ralph the dog, 13 Oct 2019
  • A wet and windy week for us but we haven't let that stop us exploring and enjoying ourselves. Dan had fun surfing at Woolacombe. Molly & Daisy enjoyed the beaches and playing in the sea at Woolacombe, Putsborough & Widemouth bay, the Tarka Trail and Arlington Court. A great comfortable cottage.

    — Brigitte, Daniel & Mollly & Daisy the dogs, 28 Sep 2019
  • Fantastic weather. Great Cottage, really restful place. Thank you for the cream tea! Made us feel welcome.

  • Another lovely week at Nutcombe. We love enjoying walks into Combe Martin. Visited Arlington Court, Ilfracombe and enjoyed sunny weather walking the beach at Woolacombe to Putsborough sands. A very relaxing time with great weather to make the most of the sun-loungers and views. Excellent place to stay. Thank you. :)

  • Lovely cottage. Very comfortable and well equipped. Everything we needed. We loved Heddons Mouth and the walk to Woody Bay. Also walks from the Valley of the Rocks, Marine drive above Woolacombe beach always a winner. Thank you
Our favourite things to do! Woolacombe Dunes 5K Park run- Dunes of Doom!! Woolacombe beach - great waves! Exmoor Zoo- Lots of unusual endangered animals. Ilfracombe Beach- brilliant rock pools & lots of things to find. Lynton & Lynmouth- Walked the coastal path- very steep but a gorgeous walk. Look out for the goats. Lastly, Watersmeet - stunning waterfalls.

    — Ellis & Atkinsons, 09 Aug 2019
  • What a brilliant week! We were lucky enough to have family in Nutcombe Barn and Cider House so have been able to enjoy the full space at Nutcombe. Beautiful views!

  • Very much enjoyed our first holiday with the hound and at the lovely Nutcombe Cottage and don't want to leave! Highlights have been walking on Woolacombe beach to Putsborough, Saunton Sands, Westward Ho! beach round to Appledore and Instow beach. Also the coastal path from Combe Martin to Watermouth where there is a delightful 'Boat' cafe overlooking the bay.The 'Favourite Walks' recommended in the visitor information that we did, were the Morthoe to Morte point and Valley of the Rocks which were very good and particularly like Morthoe village. The identify tag supplied is a great idea.

    — Chris, Christina and Mabel the dog, 07 Jun 2019
  • Lovely Cottage in such a beautiful part of the country. The sun has shone every day which helps! Spoilt for choice for walks. Morte Point was probably our favourite coastal walk. We also ventured to Simonsbath for a walk on Exmoor. Eaten out every evening with no disappointments. 7 The Bistro at Lynmouth was the highlight, but would also recommend the Pyne Arms, and Terre Madre at the Broomhill Art Hotel for something a bit different.

    — Jan & Pete, 24 May 2019
  • We've had a wonderful week. The cottage is very comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing here as well as lots of trips exploring! Highlights were learning to surf on Woolacombe beach. A walk along the coastal path at Morthoe and eating at the Fox & Goose in Parracombe. Thank you. We'll definitely be back!
George Age 9 - I really enjoyed staying at the cottage. The captains table in Woolacombe was my favourite cafe. I also recommend the Fox and Goose. The beaches are amazing and surfing is really fun. I'm coming back!!

    — Emily & Family, 24 May 2019
  • What a little gem! Cottage well-equipped, clean and beautifully kitted out; double sized shower much appreciated! Enjoyed our coastal walk around Morte Point and Croyde beach was great for both us and the dog Views spectacular and very lucky with the weather. Recommend the Fox and Goose for an evening meal; dog friendly too. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

  • Very beautiful accommodation in such a gorgeous setting. Amazing to find a delicious cream tea waiting for us! Thank you. We only ate out once at lunchtime in Lynton and can highly recommend (dog friendly too) at Charlie Fridays. The walk along Valley of the Rocks was gorgeous and we walked from Woolacombe to Putsborough and had hot chocolate at the beach cafe (also dog friendly). We normally holiday in Croyde but accommodation isn’t dog friendly hence finding Nutcombe. Will be passing details on to others. Thank you for such a lovely stay with all of Devon’s weather! P.S. Also chips at Saunton Beach café delicious! Dogs allowed on the balcony.

    — Catherine, Richard and Happy the dog, 05 Apr 2019
  • A fantastic few days away as an extended family over the New Year. We enjoyed visiting several local beaches including Combe martin which were all wonderful. An exciting coastal walk in the fog and rain was one to remember! The three cottages were excellent with plenty of room for all. Very well equipped and safe for the kiddies of all ages, making the break most relaxing and enjoyable. The dog garden worked very well for us. Thank you for your kind hospitality, until next time!

    — The Roberts Family, 04 Jan 2019

  • We have had a wonderful holiday here at Nutcombe; very quiet and peaceful, allowing time to reflect and remember very happy memories of holidaying her in Devon as a child. Beautiful surroundings and cottage. We really enjoyed our day at Lynton & Lynmouth and Rosie loved going for a paddle in the river to cool down. Woolacombe beach is very dog friendly. Clovelly a challenge but well worth it. Thank you Jackie & David for having us 😊 😊

    — Ruth, Dave, Jenny & Rosie, 16 Aug 2018

  • What a lovely week we have had in Nutcombe Cottage. The weather has been very kind to us. The cottage itself is lovely and a very relaxing place to stay. The cream tea on arrival was a nice thought and went down very well. The field for dog walking is an excellent idea as Meg loved bouncing around. A very enjoyable stay was had by all. Thanks Nutcombe Farm 😊

  • We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nutcombe Cottage. A beautifully appointed home from home. We have been blessed with gorgeous weather for our weeks stay and have enjoyed relaxing in this beautiful countryside.

    — David & Jackie, 07 Jul 2018
  • This is our fourth stay in a year but the first time in Nutcombe Cottage. We are struggling to choose our favourite as they are all so beautiful, comfy and well equipped. Had an amazing week here with sunshine all day everyday- yet to see a cloud! Sunsets have been stunning. Tried kayaking for the first time from Combe Martin to Watermouth Cove for a delicious cream tea at ‘Storm in a Teacup’. We love to walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet. It took us 15 years of holidaying in North Devon before we discovered that walk and wish we’d found it earlier. To eat we recommend Sawmills, Berrynarbour and Barricane beach curry; curry served up for you to eat on the beach! Jackie and David are wonderful hosts; helpful and friendly. Thank you

    — Cheryl & Rob, 30 Jun 2018
  • We have had a wonderful weeks stay at this beautiful cottage. Have been very lucky with the weather so have been able to enjoy the outside area and sit and relax listening to the sound of the birds, sheep and peace and quiet, bliss! Would recommend the Hunters Inn for food and also the walk that start there to Heddon Valley. Great food too at the Black Venus in Challacombe. Lynton & Lynmouth for a lovely day out and you can walk from there to Watersmeet, a beautiful setting. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and for the lovely cream tea on arrival. We will be recommending to others
