Here are just a few comments from our lovely guests at Elsley

  • This was our second stay at Elsley. It is an excellent base for a comfortable break, with a lovely garden to enjoy.

We were very lucky with the weather all week. I completed many miles along the brilliant but challenging coastal walks.

    Andy, Sian and Mom.

    — Andy Parker, 18 Oct 2021
  • We had a very good time. We had a lot of rain but we got out and did a lot of walks when we could and had a bus ride. We will see you next year. Lovely place to stay.

    — Jean and friend, 09 Oct 2021
  • Thank you Jackie & David for another lovely holiday in Home from home Elsley. Re-charging our batteries once again and doing absolutely nothing, except enjoying North Devon & Combe Martin in particular. See you in 2022.

    — Dave & Babs, 02 Oct 2021
  • Thank you again for yet another wonderful week in Elsley. Perfect bungalow, spotlessly clean and beautiful weather too. We were so lucky. Already booked again!

    — Bob & Sheila, 18 Sep 2021
  • A great week. Not our first time to Combe Martin but our first stay in Elsley. It has been so convenient for wheeling our kayak down to the beach and very comfortable to stay in. Lots of good walks including Watersmeet, Valley of the Rocks and Mortehoe to see the seals. The ice cream shop by the beach is also another plus!! :)

    — Jenny & Rebecca, 04 Sep 2021
  • Here for our sons wedding. Baked a cake!!! Absolutely loved the bungalow. Hopefully we will be back.

    — Ralph & Lesley, 21 Aug 2021
  • Lovely, bright and roomy holiday stay-cation! Home from home. Appreciated the great communication with Jackie & David and all the little extras here (hangers in the wardrobe, everything you need in the kitchen and the night light!) Look forward to booking again.

  • As usual, a lovely week in Elsley. A lovely place to stay. Thank you

    — Emma, Josh, Lucy, Carol, Wally & Chris, 31 Jul 2021
  • A wonderful rest-active week away, blessed with beautiful weather. Lots of enjoyable walks locally and further afield from Woolacombe to Bull Point Lighthouse. Great views from the top of both Little and Great Hangman and gorgeous sunsets at the beach. A great location with everything we needed for our holiday. Thank you!

    — Emma & Gary, 17 Jul 2021
  • A lovely first visit. Thanks for walking recommendations. Morthoe and Giant Hangman were great. Seven long walks and three long cycles in 12 days. Let's go home for a rest!!

    — Sue & Trish, 26 Jun 2021
  • Another wonderful week and the weather could not have been more perfect. So lovely to continue the family tradition and keep coming year on year. Already booked in for next May and now we are retired properly, perhaps coming again later in the year. Thank so much for providing such a lovely property.

    — David , Jane, Eilidh, Chris and Karen, 05 Jun 2021
  • After 40 years of coming to Elsley, it is still such a pleasure to recharge our batteries in thi lovely setting (the bungalow and the area). Thank you. See you in September :)

    — Dave & Babs, 29 May 2021
  • We had a wonderful week at Elsley, we were able to negotiate different arrival day with Jackie, who was most helpful and accommodating. The house is really comfortable and every attention to cleanliness and Covid regulations is made, the living room and bedrooms are fresh and modern and the furnishings are comfortable and of good quality. The kitchen has everything you need and the gardens are lovely. It’s a great base to explore Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, Barnstable and North Devon, it has fantastic but challenging coastal path walks. I would definitely book here again to bring my young grandchildren as the beach is safe for small children.

  • First holiday in a long time! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location. The bungalow has served us very well and we have not wanted for anything. We have been spoilt by amazing weather this week and have enjoyed long, peaceful walks, beaches and sunsets! Thank you to our hosts. Everything in the build up to our stay and during has been spot on!

    — Tim, L nda, Izzy & Jacob, 18 Apr 2021
  • Lovely comfy beds. Terrible weather but it didn't stop us walking the coastal path to the Heddon Valley. Also visited Arlington Court and now off to Dunster Castle on the way home. Gorgeous Hockings ice cream in Westward Ho!!

    — Sarah, Phil, Elodie & Frank, 30 Oct 2020
  • The week was a big success, Elsely was no small part of that, as we felt it was homely and very comfortable (including the beds). Perfect location, as just back from the town, but easy walking distance. A safe place to be in these Covid 19 times.
We will recommend to friends and hope to come again.

    — Andy , 19 Oct 2020
  • Elsley is very homely. We have had a great week. Hope to see you again next year.

    — Andrew & Doreen, 17 Oct 2020
  • Thank you for a lovely week in your comfortable and immaculately clean bungalow. Everything we could need and in a perfect location.

    — Chris & Janice, 26 Sep 2020
  • Another lovely week in Elsley. What fantastic weather we had too. The bungalow beautiful as always, so nice to wind down and relax in these troubled times. Thank you

    — Bob & Sheila, 19 Sep 2020
  • We have been coming to Elsley for over 30 years! First as young parents with young children and grandparents, now as grandparents with our own grandchild. Four generations of our family have enjoyed this wonderful place. May 2020 was cancelled, so glad to be here for just a few days. See you next May as usual. Thanks for making it so perfect in such imperfect times!

    — The Westons, 31 Aug 2020
  • Elsley is a well situated bungalow just a few minutes walk from the beach and shops in Combe Martin. It is located in a Cul-de-sac so we found it very quiet when we stayed in August 2020. There are spacious front and rear gardens, and the Costal Path is very close by. We enjoyed the week we spent there, and plan to return next year.

    — Simon , 23 Aug 2020
  • Yet another lovely holiday in Elsley. Home from home . Such a lovely spacious bungalow. Hard to keep the children off the beach. Thank you
