There is also a DVD player and a small selection of books and family games.  The furniture is solid oak to match the flooring and just off the kitchen there is the added convenience of a small separate toilet with washbasin.

The dining area has a large oak dining table with six upholstered chairs. The table can be extended to create a much larger table which can seat up to 12 people, making it perfect for larger parties taking both Nutcombe Barn and Cider house (see below for details).

Upstairs bedroom:  The first of our king size en-suite bedrooms is just off the lounge area. Here you will find a beautiful wrought iron king size bed with pocket sprung mattress with a memory foam topper, oak bedside cabinets and wardrobe with views out over the dog garden to the countryside beyond. The limestone, luxury en-suite shower room has a large walk in shower with rainfall shower head and massage jet system for the ultimate in luxury showering as well as a loo and washbasin. There are French doors from both the downstairs bedrooms onto the terrace at the rear of the cottage (see outdoor space)

The master bedroom: Sleep like a king with cotton linen in our beautiful Victorian style bed with a pocket sprung mattress with memory foam topper and wake to great views over the garden to the fields beyond.  A spacious room with solid oak bedside cabinets with the added luxury of a large walk in wardrobe so plenty of space to store all your essentials. Large family gatherings:  To enable us to cater for larger parties, we have the capability of opening up between Nutcombe Barn and Cider House at first floor level to create one larger property that can sleep ten people in five en-suite rooms. This offers the perfect solution for large family gatherings like Christmas and New Year or just an extended family holiday. Take a look at some lovely comments received from previous guests who have enjoyed their stay in Nutcombe Barn. For comments for guests in our other cottages, please see the individual cottage pages.

  • Wow! Just had a wonderful family Easter week in Nutcombe Barn and the Cider House. Every thing was amazing and our dogs were spoilt rotten with a large garden and massive field to exercise in. Lovely accommodation, fab bathrooms with unlimited hot water and views to die for - we had every weather from sun on the beach in Croyde to waking up to snow covered hills - all 6 of us plus toddler and 3 dogs did not want to come home - thankyou Jackie we will be back 😍

  • We had a very relaxing weeks holiday, much needed. Lovely cottage, very comfy and warm. Enjoyed the best ever Sunday roast at the Pack O Cards. Lovely meal at the White Horse Inn in Exford. Managed to catch the rain again! Everything you need is in the cottage, especially the fantastic showers!! Thank you so much. P.S. Scones are very nice!

    — Dave, Toni & family, 04 Nov 2023
  • As many have said in previous reviews, we had a fabulous time at Nutcombe Barn. It was a wonderful place for a long planned get together of family and friends and we couldn't have asked for more comfortable surroundings inside the barn and wonderful views outside. Lovely sociable living space, good sized bedrooms with comfy beds and fantastic showers with great water pressure. The barn was very warm without the heating on but when we did use it the place warmed up instantly.
We walked for miles around the coast, visited the great pannier market at South Molton and had good meals at the Fox and Goose, Parracombe, the Chichester Arms in Mortehoe, but especially at the King's Arms in Georgeham, where the Sunday roast was outstanding. We hope to be able to come back for more of the same next year. Thank you Jackie for a truly relaxing stay.

  • Thank you for making us feel welcome. The cream tea was lovely, tasty jam! The hard work you both put in to make the cottages and grounds so nice is much appreciated. Thyme loved playing in the dog garden and walking round the field. We've done some of our favourite walks and also had new adventures at Morte Point and Arlington Court, both of which we would recommend.

    — Carol, Malcolm and Thyme the Golden Retriever, 21 Oct 2023
  • Nutcombe Barn is everything you could wish for in a self catering holiday. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We have probably had the best week of the summer, sunshine every day. Can highly recommend the Fox & Goose in Parracombe for Sunday lunch. Its so very peaceful and the birdsong is wonderful. Views are amazing, and the gardens very pretty. Thank you for the cream tea, it was very welcome.

    — Ursula & Iris, 09 Sep 2023
  • Fabulous stay in beautiful surroundings. Made good use of the dog field and large field near the property. Beautiful flora & fauna. thank you.

  • Rather than repeat the range of lovely, positive comments in other entries, all of which reflect our experiences here, I'll just add a few suggestions for activities away from Nutcombe but within easy reach (by car or bike).
Dunster is a bit of a drive but well worth it: great independent shops, hotels and restaurants, but above all the NT Castle and its refurbished Mill tea room.
Ilfracombe is not nearly as dreary and weary as some reviewers elsewhere claim. The harbour and vicinity is vibrant and exciting (we'd especially recommend the variety of sea trips - we swam with seals off Lundy) and the Aquarium is well-managed and has a really nice café with the best young staff you'd find anywhere (but beware the public lavatories next door, a bit of a disgrace really, Ifracombe!) A short walk round or over the cliff leads you to the park, theatre, hotels and further shops, but the crowning glory for us was the outstanding local museum, hidden away but well worth the visit (and the £4 entry.)
Combe Martin is sweet, great for beachcombing and rock-pooling if you have adventurous children in tow; it also offers paddle-boarding and kayaking. The walk up to the Hangmen is great for the energetic, but our mixed group decided to leave the Great one for another day and dropped down off the Little one into Challacombe and back into CM. More than enough!
Watersmeet and Lynton/Lynmouth/Valley of the Rocks offer lovely walks and interesting landscapes, and the "funicular" railway is fun and useful.
Parracombe is delightful: great little community-run village shop and café, excellent pub/restaurant, The Fox and Goose, but above all the exceptional 11th Century+ church, St Petrock, supported by the Churches Conservation Trust, and deserving of a proper visit. We walked past it and out of the village though fields and back past the "modern" Victorian replacement, also nice.
Two of us spent half a damp day at the NT's Arlington Court, and there are other accessible gardens one can visit within striking distance of Nutcombe too.
All in all our 3-generation family had a memorable week and loved Nutcombe Barn and all it has to offer.
Thanks Jackie and David so much for providing us with the perfect base for our time there.

    — David Fisher, 23 Aug 2023
  • Lovely facilities and superb gardens, view & grounds. We saw Heron, swallows, green woodpecker, robins, butterflies galore, frogs, newts and fabulous flowers. Thank you David & Jackie

    — David, Gillie, Zoe, Lily & Henry, 19 Aug 2023
  • We’ve returned from a lovely week in Nutcombe Barn. Fabulous setting and the house was just perfect. Lovely presentation, fully functioning kitchen, brilliant showers and comfortable beds. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Thank you so much Jackie and David for all your hard work and of course the delicious scones!

  • Nutcombe Barn is lovely. The setting is beautiful and even good dog facilities!! Difficult week with the weather but we enjoyed the rest and local area. thank you.

    — Amanda & family, 05 Aug 2023
  • As a party of 6 adults we spent a great week at Nutcombe Barn. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was a perfect size for us. We were able to use the sun terrace and enjoy the beautiful gardens and lovely views.

The Barn is a good location for seeing the area, easily being able to drive or walk to great places to see and enjoy.

Only small improvement would be a gas BBQ.
NUTCOMBE COTTAGES: Thank you for your review. We do supply a charcoal BBQ for guests use, but not a gas one I'm afraid

    — Ian & Paula, 24 Jul 2023
  • We have had a wonderful holiday at Nutcombe Barn enjoying the beautiful view, surroundings and peace Nutcombe Barn provides. the views are stunning. The property was immaculate and the cream tea on arrival was lovely, thank you Jackie. We had all the stuff we needed to make us comfortable. The beds are very comfy and the showers are great. Places we have enjoyed: The Black Venus, Challacombe, delicious food and dog friendly. Very popular so do book in advance. We love Ilfracombe and enjoyed shopping for gifts and cream teas at Dollys cafe. Enjoyed a nice take away from Top Chippy in the High street, Combe Martin. The Depot Eatery in Ilfracombe is good for a relaxed dinner and is dog friendly too. Sadly our dog Cloud got over excited in the dog garden and dislocated his toe warranting a vet trip to Charter vets who were great and patched him up. Thankfully! The Useful Numbers provided in the Welcome Pack came in very handy. A lovely holiday. Thanks again

  • We have just returned from a fantastic week in Nutcombe Barn and the Cider House. Both properties were immaculately presented with everything you need for a self catering holiday to accommodate 4 generations. Lovely comfortable beds, great showers with plenty of hot water, exceptionally clean and what a view from the balcony, stunning. Many hours spent just looking at the view and the fantastic gardens. Just a perfect week.
Huge thank you to both David and Jackie for everything, all so very much appreciated.

    — Maddox Family, 21 Jun 2023
  • We stayed at The Barn , Nutcombe Farm for our base for tackling our first 100 miles of the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Clovelly. It was the most perfect spot for us, idyllic, peaceful and beautiful' a real home from home and a great place to return to after a long day on the SWCP.
Jackie & David were so friendly and accommodating before and during our stay. The Barn is so well equipped and had everything we needed. We were so lucky with the weather, beautiful warm and sunny weather. the north Devon coastline is stunning. Each leg of our 10 walks was fantastic, the rest of the coast path has so much to live up to.
We will definitely return and have a more relaxing holiday once we finish the South West Coast Path. A big THANK YOU to Jackie & David. Our two dogs loved Nutcombe Barn as well, particularly the dog garden :)

    — Mike & Africa, 27 May 2023
  • We had a fantastic short break in the barn at Nutcombe, it is a shame that we were only there for 3 nights we wished it had been longer. The barn is extremely well furnished and the views over the surrounding hillside are simply stunning.

The barn has all of the amenities that you need, it was spotless and the beds were really comfortable. Each bedroom has its own modern en-suite bathroom which were spacious and with a never ending supply of hot water for showers etc.

We spent a lot of time sitting in the gardens in the early evening just taking in the views of the gardens and surrounding areas.

We rarely go back to the same place twice however we are already planning a return visit to Nutcombe.

    — Dave & Family, 16 May 2023
  • We have all had a wonderful time here in Nutcombe Barn. The accommodation is in such a beautiful location. We have loved the views from the barn, especially the beautiful daffodils. Fantastic facilities for the two families. Lots of attention to detail which makes such a home from home feel here. Very grateful for the scones, jam and cream. Thank you so much. The weather has been amazing! So much sun! Otis our cocker spaniel has absolutely loved the secure garden and the 3 acres to run on. Thank you so much for the warm and friendly welcome.

    — Charmain family and Otis the dog, 11 Apr 2023
  • We had a wonderful week in Nutcombe Barn and Cider House. The views are spectacular and both properties are spacious and well equipped with everything we needed.

    — Matta family, 28 Mar 2023
  • First time staying at Nutcombe Cottage, most beautiful place to stay, lovely & quiet. The Barn was very well presented, very well equipped and clean. Thank you Jackie for the lovely cream tea on arrival. Will highly recommend to all our friends and family and we will definitely be staying again. Thank you x

    — Wally, Carol, Emma, Joshua & Lacey, 18 Feb 2023
  • We have spent a wonderful family holiday in Nutcombe Barn and Cider house ; what a lovely place for Christmas! The Christmas trees and decorations were beautiful. We had brief trips to Ilfracombe on Christmas Eve and Combe Martin on Boxing Day, both in sunshine and skipping the showers. We loved the views from the property and the changing colours of the fields and woods as the weather changed and the day progressed. Thank you for the mince pies. Just one problem, slow internet connection.
Nutcombe Cottages: Since this review we have upgraded our Broadband to a Superfast 4g network.

    — The Boves & Cookes, 27 Dec 2022

  • Lovely family holiday at Nutcombe Barn. Unfortunately the weather was terrible but we all enjoyed exploring the local area. The barn was lovely and spacious and the views were amazing. Can recommend the Beach House restaurant in Woolacombe but you must book and cream tea cafe in Barnstaple ' amazing homemade cakes (off Butchers Row)

    — Anne, Keith, Hazel, Keith, Carole & Phil, 10 Sep 2022
  • Had a lovely stay at the barn. A good base for exploring. We really enjoyed the beach at Woolacombe. Lovely views from the barn; a nice quiet area :)

    — Charmain, Darryl, Tania, Martin, Faith & Clara, 27 Aug 2022
  • A fantastic hot week here. We've been visiting this part of the country for years and this is definitely one of the best places we've stayed. Have enjoyed keeping cool at Watersmeeet, lovely walk to Lynmouth. Great day out at Dunster Castle; very pretty village too. Great beach at Putsborough. Out teens had a fantastic time Wake Boarding next to the Milkyu Way Park. Cream teas at Watersmeet National Trust cafe.

    — The Bells, 13 Aug 2022
  • We've had a wonderful time in North Devon. The cottages were wonderfully clean and modern, housing everything we needed. We enjoyed visiting local Ulfraombe for the shops, Lynton for the Cliff Railway and Woolacombe for the sandy beach! Worth driving straight to the top car park! We ate out at the Foscle and the Pack O Cards Inn; both highly recommend, however it is worth noting the latter had a much longer wait time. Great local chippys to take away from; the Black & White in Combe Martin was delicious. An altogether fantastic time.

    — The Baggott Family, 06 Aug 2022
  • We have just returned for our second holiday here following a fantastic stay last summer. We have been so lucky to have a beautiful sunny week again! • Lovely family weekend in beautiful surroundings. Barn development is stunning.

    — John & Claire, 17 May 2022

REcommend: Rosemoor, National Trust Artlington Court, walk around Mortehoe headland, wander around Ilfracombe, Chichester Arms in Mortehoe for a good pint, Besshill Farm Shop (support local!!). Avoid paying £8 to park in Woolacombe. Go to Mortehoe instead! :)

    — Reid Family, 14 Feb 2022
  • Nutcombe Barn has been a wonderful, warm, cosy place to stay. The views are beautiful with the spring flowers just starting to appear. It was lovely to have a delicious cream tea when we arrived. The place is well equipped, clean and very comfortable. It was great to have 3 en-suite rooms and the new super king bed was super comfortable. Great exercise facilities for our dog. We were only here for a few days but there was so much to do, the highlight was a long walk through the woods down to Woody Bay which was stunning even on a winter day.

    — Di, Mark, Alice, Joe Tom and Georgia, 13 Feb 2022
  • This is the second time we have stayed and loved it just as much this time. North Devon is fast becoming a family favourite. We enjoyed walks, swimming and eating out. Recommend the Fox & Goose in Parracombe, the Balck Venus in Challacome and Giavanni & Lucas in Ilfracombe. Thank you for a wonderlly relaxing time. The perfect antidote to this year so far. We'll be back!

    — Emily, Goran, Annabelle and George, 31 Oct 2021
  • A very peaceful location with beautiful views. We have both wanted to visit the Valley of the Rocks and the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, for a long time so those trips were memorable. Seeing the agile goats on the rocks was lovely.
Places to eat- The Cracker Barrel in Lynton for lunch. The Harbour cage in Combe Martin for a great selection of cakes. The Hunters Inn for a special dinner overlooking the grouns with a pair of peacocks. National Trust owned so profits go to that organization. Been lucky with the weather. Sorry to leave!

    — Celia & Mike, 08 Oct 2021
  • Lovely cottage with beautiful views. Murphy the dog enjoyed the field where he could run and we walked around the path which was mown. We visited several beaches and lovely gardens. Thank you for making us feel Covid safe.

    — Anne, Sally-Anne, and family, 19 Sep 2021
  • We have had an amazing time here at Nutcombe Barn. A stunning location to return to each day, We enjoyed the use of the garden, our private patio area and esprcially the balcony. The weather could not have been better. We made the best of it with trips to Woolacombe beach, Lynton & Lynmouth, a bike ride on the Tarka Trail (the dog enjoyed being int he trailer!), and some stunning walks at the Valley of the Rocks, Morte Point and Heddons Mouth. Would love to return to explore even more of Exmoor. P.S. Thanks for the lovely cream tea :)

    — The Robson Family, 28 Aug 2021
  • What a wonderful holiday! The cottage is lovely and clean, great showers, comfy beds and breathtaking views. The gardens and plants are just stunning. Many thanks to Jackie for helping with surprise 40th birthday balloons and cake. We have been lucky with dry weather and enjoyed visits to Croyde beach, Watermouth Castle theme park (a favourite of our 6 and 3 year olds), Lynton & Lynmouth and the steam railway. Thank you for this lovely spot for a fabulous holiday. Fingers crossed we will be back next year.

    — The Holmes family, 06 Aug 2021
  • Nutcombe Barn was the perfect base for a week of gloriously hot and sunny weather. Relatively cool thanks to the thick walls and the strong WiFi was much appreciated by the teenagers! Favourite dog=friendly beaches were Putsborough and Broadsands (worth the 200 steps!) but best of all was sitting on the terrace admiring the riot of colourful flowers int he garden. Thank you!-

    — The Keall family, 24 Jul 2021
  • We have had a lovely relaxing holiday in Nutcombe Barn. The weather has been amazing and we have managed to visit lots of places in the area. Lynton & Lynmouth, Watersmeet, Woolacombe, Exmoor Zoo, Lee and the Dinosaur and Wildlife Park.

  • This i our second time here and once again we were delighted with the amazing facilities. Jackie & David have taken every precaution to make this a Covid secure holiday home and we were welcomed with fantastic cream teas which were a great touch given the long drive getting here.
The weather has been mixed and we have had some days on the amazing beach at Woolacombe. With two 4 year old twins it was good to spend some of the less sunny days at The Big Sheep in Bideford as well as out on a boat trip in Ilfracombe.
Such a beautiful place ( our happy place) and will be for many years to come. We are staying another week where the weather is looking good and we look forward to staying in Cider House next door with more amazing scone I hope!

  • Thanks for a wonderful week at Nutcombe Barn. The barn is perfect for family stays with separate bathrooms and great showers. The setting is beautiful and wonderful beaches nearby. We enjoyed the cream tea on arrival and used the BBQ lots. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

  • Wonderful time had by all. It was our first holiday since 2019, but also with our new grandson Archie 6 months old. We all enjoyed our stay so much. The barn was so lovely and the view!! Well it was the best of anywhere we have ever stayed.
Thank you so much Jackie from Gemma & Mike. You made there first holiday so relaxing with all the little things you included for them with little Archie.
The area is great. Lots to do and see even thought he weather for may was more like February! It really didn't matter. If anyone asks where to stay in North Devon we will recommend Nutcombe Barn.

  • Wonderful, peaceful cottage with views to die for. We are very sad to leave :( Had a fabulous week exploring the beautiful area and thoroughly enjoyed trips to Lynton & Lynmouth and the Heddon Valley. Will be recommending Nutcombe to all our friends. Thank you!

  • After a long winter in lockdown, we escaped to the perfect retreat. The standards in this property are very high, and everything was kept immaculately clean with extra focus on hygiene due to the pandemic. The three spacious bedrooms, all have luxury ensuites, and very comfortable beds. The scenery and views from the property are incredible, especially at this time of year, as we could watch the newborn lambs jumping around. We thoroughly enjoyed the cream tea; the homemade scones and jam were delicious. This is a beautiful part of the country, with so much to see and do. No drive seems too far away when you have such beautiful scenery to admire as you go. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay, and had beautiful blue skies every day, so enjoyed visiting Woolacombe and Croyde beaches. We would love to return in the not too distant future.

  • Had a lovely stay at Nutcombe Barn despite the mixed weather. The accommodation was superb and beautifully decorated and furnished and the location was both picturesque and peaceful - ideal for a relaxing break.
Jackie and David were very good hosts - helpful and friendly whilst also being discreet.
Lots to see and do in the area and some lovely walks with stunning scenery.
We would have no hesitation in returning again in the future

  • Wonderful holiday at Nutcombe cottages with the family. We stayed in Nutcombe Barn which was perfectly clean and well stocked with everything we needed for us and the dogs. We enjoyed gorgeous views from the balcony and we loved walking the dogs around the field in the evenings, where we heard and saw owls and a horse shoe bats! The cottages are in a prefect location, so close to illfracombe and woolacombe. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for a great stay Jackie.

  • We've had a really lovely stay in spite of a few days of rain & mizzle! The accommodation is lovely and spacious and very well equipped. The views are amazing, like a painting. Saunton & Woolacombe beaches are amazing and great for families and dogs with miles of soft sand. Lots to do for young families too. Great hosts. We will definitely be back!

  • Magical place! Really clean and comfortable. Everything we needed for a restful break. Weather kind, a bonus. Lots of wildlife and lovely walks for Dexter the dog. We would love to return.

  • What an amzing week. Beautiful place to stay with everything needed for a family of 8 plus dog. Places we visited and would recommend- Woolacombe for it's beach, Ilfracombe for crazy golf, harbour and Verity, Hunters Inn, Valley of the Rocks & Lynton & Lynmouth, we followed the coast path, it's an experience :), Hele Bay is beautiful too. We've had an amazing week and will be returning soon.

  • Weather could have been better at the beginning of the week. Loved the cottage Very well equipped- everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Recommended to us by a family member who stayed in Nutcombe Cottage last year. Over many years we have stayed in self-catering establishments in North Devon and this is one of the best. Hope to come back.

  • What a wonderful week. Weather very kind to us and so managed to walk 100K in 6 days!! Lovely place to stay, very comfortable and everything provided to a very high standard. Fabulous views from the house and such peace and tranquility. Thank you. We would love to return to this wonderful place you have here.

    — Sandy, Rob and Family, 25 May 2019
  • it is rare to find such an immaculately kept holiday cottage which also welcomes dogs. And fascinating to watch the yearly transformation of David's garden. I hope to see the final result one day!

    — Gay & Family, 20 Apr 2019
  • We met to celebrate the life of a loved one who had recently passed. We were an extended family and this space made a very good venue to come together again. Wonderful views and peaceful setting. Thank you.

    — Saunders Family, 17 Mar 2019
  • What a lovely relaxing week! Very lucky to have nice weather this week. We have been to some great beaches and some good local walks too. The cottage is fantastic. Really well equipped too. We are already looking forward to our return visit later this year

  • We’ve enjoyed a lovely return visit to Nutcombe Cottage having previously enjoyed The Cottage and this time had a great time staying in the Barn. Everything we could wish for; like a home from home. We’ve been rock-pooling in Combe Martin, wandering in Ilfracombe, rambling around Baggy Point (would recommend if pregnant as if not after anything too challenging) and eaten ice cream in mid- January in Lynton and Lynmouth. Thank you as always for such a lovely little break. See you soon 😊

    — Josh, Amber & Margot, 15 Jan 2019
  • A fantastic few days away as an extended family over the New Year. We enjoyed visiting several local beaches including Combe martin which were all wonderful. An exciting coastal walk in the fog and rain was one to remember! The three cottages were excellent with plenty of room for all. Very well equipped and safe for the kiddies of all ages, making the break most relaxing and enjoyable. The dog garden worked very well for us. Thank you for your kind hospitality, until next time

    — The Roberts Family, 04 Jan 2019
  • We had a lovely week at the Barn despite the weather. It has been a comfortable cottage with all we could need. We enjoyed some excellent meals at the Black Venus in Challacombe. If you get a change, try the Duck in Port jus- superb! We also had a lovely walk on Woolacombe beach, Kofi loved chasing after his ball and all the interesting smells. The Beachcomber café was extremely dog friendly and we had a lovely lunch and they gave Kofu a sausage for his! Thank you Jackie and David for the cream tea and lovely cottage. We will return

    — Chris, Jackie & Kofi the dog, 08 Nov 2018
  • Sadly, only half our party were able to come, so we Skyped them to let them enjoy the beautiful view and the excellent accommodation here at Nutcombe Farm. We have enjoyed a beautiful place to stay, resting from our hectic lives, eaten far too many cakes and cream teas, but hey, that’s what Devon is about. We had a lovely welcome in the most well-appointed place to stay. Nothing was needed as everything was provided. Exmoor is a beautiful yet under-rated destination. We leave happy and rested. Thank you

    — The Ratcliffs, 15 Sep 2018
  • Lovely peaceful cottage with beautiful surroundings. Lucky to have had nice weather. Visited lots of seaside location. We especially liked being scared at the haunted Chambercombe Manor. The tour was informative both historically and paranormally’

    — The Shropshire Clan, 01 Sep 2018
  • A fantastic stay here thank you! We have enjoyed staying here for a week despite the slightly wet weather and have made many memories. Great central location meant trips to Woolacombe, Croyde, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple. Having 6 children with us has been quite full on but there is plenty to entertain. Thank you again for a lovely stay 😊

    — William & Family, 25 Aug 2018
  • Another lovely stay, this time in Nutcombe Barn. Having been here at Easter in Cider House, we know we’d have a fab and comfortable stay. Visited our usual haunts: Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Braunton (Squires for the BEST fish and chips), Lynton & Lynmouth, Barnstaple Pannier Market, Croyde and Bideford for craft supplies (wonderful haberdashery shops!) Thanks for a great stay. We will be Back 😊

    — Gemma & Family , 18 Aug 2018
  • A delightful stay in Nutcombe Barn. Spectacular views, a great base and blessed with a week of glorious sunshine. Lovely gesture of a cream tea on arrival, thank you. Places we visited and recommend include: Lynton & Lynmouth, Woolacombe beach, Croyde, Saunton Sands, Westwood Ho and Clovelly. Delightful walks up to Watersmeet in Lynmouth, Torrs coastal walk and many more left to explore on a return visit in the near future. The Barn offers luxury accommodation, so peaceful and relaxing

    — Helen & Steven, 23 Jun 2018
  • Had a wonderful week at Nutcombe Barn. Everything has been excellent! Our two Jack Russells have had the best time as well; chasing rabbits. We enjoyed Lynmouth and lunch on the way home at Hunters Inn. The weather has been fantastic so we have enjoyed sitting and taking in the beautiful views. A truly relaxing holiday. Thank you!

    — Ian, Rachael & Sheila, 09 Jun 2018
  • We love this place! Have visited North Devon every year since 1978 and stayed in many places, but this ticks all the boxes; beauty, peace, quality, conveniently located, comfortable and stylish with character and cosiness! We heard the owl every night across the valley at dusk and the beautiful song-thrush throughout the day. Saw a kingfisher at Marwood Gardens (lovely cream teas & food) and if you don’t want to venture onto the beach, you can sit on a bench on the green overlooking it all and wait for the sunset. The stream at Woolacombe beach keeps kids entertained all day. Paradise found!!! Thank you David & Jackie for sharing! We will be back 😊

    — Cheryl & rob, 09 May 2018
  • Thank you for another wonderful stay at Nutcombe. We love the barn for its peace and tranquillity, plus the ease at which we could get to so many beautiful places. The dogs in particular loved Putsborough beach and Saunton sands. Although this was our second visit, there are still places we’d love to come back to see. We visited Heddons Mouth and Valley of the Rocks; both stunning! Croyde was so pretty and we had a wonderfully delicious cream tea at Sandleigh tearooms and then walked to Baggy point. The local chippie in Combe Martin was very tasty! We will definitely be back next year. Thank you both for a lovely stay.

    — Jane & Geoff with Charlie & Harry the dogs, 28 Apr 2018
  • Loved the barn. Sensational views across the valley. Cosy and warm despite the sub-zero temperatures. Very comfy beds and well-equipped kitchen. Had some great walks; Watersmeet, Morte Point with the seals plus others. It snowed heavily midweek locking us in completely but had great fun helping to clear the snow drift at the front gate, which was no trivial task! Our hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we will return, when the weather is a little more clement.

    — Paul & Kay, 03 Mar 2018
  • We loved the view and enjoyed our stay despite the weather. We saw stars that we cannot see at home!

    — Claudia & David, 17 Feb 2018
  • We really loved the Barn. Best accommodation we have stayed in. Fabulous shower in the master bedroom suite. Considering the weather which caused flooding all around the area and rain every day, we had a great holiday. A great base is really important when the weather is bad’
