The Cider House comprises of:

First Floor: Like Nutcombe Cottage and Nutcombe Barn, Cider house is a bank barn and therefore entry is from the rear of the property at ground level onto the first floor of the cottage. Here you will find an open plan living/kitchen/dining area with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, solid English oak flooring and original stonework.

The kitchen/dining area:  A shaker style kitchen fitted with black granite work surfaces fully equipped with a Smeg fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle and plenty of crockery. There is a sociable round dining table with four chairs for cosy dinners in.

The open plan lounge area: Enjoy the comforts of home on our Next two-seater sofa or one of two armchairs, perfectly positioned to enjoy the views from the lounge window or watch the large flat screen TV with Freesat offering over 200 channels. There is also a DVD player and a small selection of books. The furniture is solid oak to match the flooring.

The two en-suite bedrooms are located on the lower floor where you will also find a washer/dryer concealed in a cupboard under the stairs.

The king size bedroom:  Enjoy the perfect nights sleep in our wrought iron king size bed with a pocket sprung mattress with memory foam topper or just lie and look out of the window at the countryside views. Furnished with a large oak wardrobe with lower drawer and oak bedside cabinets. You can also enjoy long lazy soaks in the full size bath with an overhead shower in the limestone en-suite bathroom. We also supply a hairdryer, iron and ironing board.

The single/small twin bedroom:  The smaller bedroom also has the luxury of a pretty wrought iron single bed with a pocket sprung mattress with a memory foam topper with a full-size trundle bed beneath so that the room can be set up as a small twin, making it perfect for two children.  There is a large wardrobe with lower drawer and an oak bedside cabinet.  You will also find yet another en-suite shower room with large walk in shower with rainfall shower head and massage jet system for the ultimate in luxury showering making Cider House perfect for families of three or four. There is access to the terrace from this room through French doors.

Large family gatherings:  To enable us to cater for larger parties, we have the capability of opening up between Nutcombe Barn and Cider House at first floor level to create one larger property that can sleep ten people in five en-suite rooms (Don't worry, there is two feet of sound insulation between the two properties when taken separately). This offers the perfect solution for large family gatherings like Christmas and New Year or just an extended family holiday. There is the option to have the furniture moved so that Nutcombe Barn becomes a social space and Cider House becomes a dining area (Christmas & New Year only). Please note This is not available during peak summer season.

Linen:  We supply crisp cotton linen with Egyptian cotton towels and T-towels. We ask that you bring your own beach towels and dog towels and that cottage supplies are not used for this purpose.

Here are some of the lovely comments our visitors have left when staying in Cider House. To see comments left for our other properties, please visit the individual cottage pages.

  • We had a wonderful stay at The Cider House - delicious cream tea on arrival and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. My daughter said it was very posh! The beds were very comfortable and showers fantastic. The gardens and views were spectacular. Great location to explore North Devon.

    — Lauren, Neil and Jennifer, 27 Aug 2024
  • The Cider House is a cosy well equipped cottage and was ideal for us with our two grandsons, and family dog. Enjoyed my early morning walk with our dog in the paddock which certainly gave the calf muscles a work out. Our first evening in Coombe Martin was carnival night with some great floats and very loud music, which went down a treat with the boys. A perfect location for the beach holiday we needed, but now we need a rest. A very enjoyable holiday was had by all.

    — Nicholas and Patricia , 18 Aug 2024
  • Thank you so much for providing such a comfortable, clean and peaceful accommodation. We have enjoyed exploring locally and spending time relaxing at the cottage. Thank you too for the extensive local information which helped us plan trips and walks. Much appreciated

    — Jane & Bill, 07 Jun 2024
  • A wonderful few days with family in Cider House and Nutcombe Barn. We were made to feel very welcome and the cream tea on arrival was a lovely treat. Thank you Jackie. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay; from exploring local beaches and villages, enjoying meals at the recommended pubs (Black Venus was excellent) and relaxing in the cottages and beautiful grounds. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would love to return!

    — The Mowatt family, 14 Apr 2024
  • Lovely week in Cider House and Nutcombe Barn; 9 of us plus 2 dogs. Worked well for introducing the dogs and the garden was very useful for the dogs. Dogs felt very welcome as did the people :) well equipped with everything we needed. Bedsand showers were great. Woolacombe Beach and Westward Ho! beach (northam country park) were great for the dogs and the 5 year old firl. Meal at The Fox & Goose was well received. Weather not brilliant but we manged to avoid mos of the rain and had a great time.

    — The Westoby family , 06 Apr 2024
  • A lovely week occupying both cottaages with family. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. The kids loved the shower, much better than home! The dogs were welcome in the cottage and caes, restaurants and shops in the nearby village. Looking forward to staying again next year!

    — The Cousins Family, 17 Feb 2024
  • We occupied the three cottages (13 of us) and were impressed how well equipped they were. We did our own catering and unfortunately the weather was not kind to su. We were not able to walk as much as we had planned but the beautiful views and peace of the countryside compensated. Thoroughly enjoyable week. We will return!

    — The Butler Family, 28 Dec 2023
  • Our first visit to Nutcombe Cottages, we stayed in the Cider House. Great accommodation, fully equipped, amazing views and a lovely Cream Tea which we sat outside in the courtyard to enjoy. Perfect location near to Exmoor and access to some amazing places in North Devon. The welcome pack comes with great recommendations for walks, places to visit and eating out. We especially enjoyed walks to Heddon Valley, Baggy Point at Croyde (lovely village and great breakfast at the Thatch) and Morte Point. Lyton and Lynouth also worth a visit.

Thank you Jackie and David. We will definitely be back for another visit (and won't be leaving fishing tackle next time, ha ha ).

    Jane and Craig 8 - 14 Oct 2023

    — Jane and Craig, 16 Oct 2023
  • Thank you for a fantastic stay at your lovely cottage. Cider House had everything we needed and was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in with its beautiful and peaceful setting. Lots to explore in the local area around Coombe Martin and spectacular coastal walks at Woolacombe and Heddon Valley. Hope to be back.

  • We have had a lovely holiday in cider House. Our fourth visit to Nutcombe Cottages, our second in cider house. As always it was spotlessly clean on arrival. Thank you for the lovely cream tea. We have had mixed weather nut have enjoyed visiting Woolacombe, Heddons Mouth and the Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. I recommend visiting Lynton and Lynmouth and Watersmeet. The cottage setting and view are beautiful and the amazing garden! We'll be back!!

    — Gill, Will & Emily, 19 Aug 2023
  • We have had a lovely holiday here in Devon with amazing places to visit. We love the views especially the one from the living room window. The cottage is so well organised with doggy poo bags and the clip which goes on the collar. A great place for our little dog to run around in the enclosed dog field. He could not get through the fence at all. The best thing we did was to get fish & Chips and eat them by the sea in Combe Martin. Thank you for the scones on arrival, we really appreciated it (Laurie aged 8).
Wonderful cottage in a lovely isolated spot. We had an exciting week visiting national trust properties like Arlington Court and Dunster Castle, body boarding at Woolcombe and going on ride in the Milky Way Theme Park. The cottage was lovely and neat and provided everything we needed. Thank you Jackie & David (Isaac aged 10)

    — Laurie, Isaac, Nikki & Alister, 04 Aug 2023
  • We had a great time and stayed in Cider House which has been finished to a very high standard with quality furnishings. If you want tranquility with a beautiful view this is the place to stay - the landscaped gardens are superb. Well positioned to explore all of the local towns and beaches.

  • We have stayed at Nutcombe numerous times over the last 10 years. It’s a fantastic base for the sandy beaches around Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe and also the coves etc towards Lynton and Lynmouth. There are many attractions inland too, to suit different tastes and budgets. Though access to places is easy, the properties are secluded and therefore incredibly peaceful. However nearby Combe Martin caters for day-to-day needs with a selection of shops etc. We have stayed in all the cottages and they are really comfortable, tasteful, practical and very clean. Jackie and David are on hand should anything arise, though everything has been thought of, so we’ve never had any issues. The grounds are gorgeous and the allocated dog paddock is so handy and makes bringing your furry friend very easy. Another particularly lovely touch is the home-made cream tea on arrival, most welcome after a long drive ! !

    — Helen, Mark and Wilson the dog, 18 Jun 2023
  • We loved our stay at this cottage. A very nice view and a lovely little village. We all agreed that the shower was amazing and the beds were super comfy. Has everything you need for a short (or long) stay. We had lovely weather and went on some super nice coastal walks. LOVE the pasties here (especially the traditional ones) and the scones that you made were delicious. We had some lovely trips to Come Martin, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock Wier and the gorgeous Clovelly. Walk to Combe Martin is a bit steep and takes about 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back, but its worth it. Had a lovely stay :)

    — The Condes, 03 Jun 2023
  • We packed a lot into our short break. Lovely weather on arrival and we admired your garden and daffodils & views. Lovely setting! We walked from hunters Inn to Woody Bay via Heddon Mouth and back. Took us about 4 hours along the coast path with a stop at the beach at Heddons Mouth. Sadly we missed food at Hunters Inn as we were too late so it was fish & chips at the Fox & Goose in Parracombe - huge helpings!!
Walked from Lynmouth to Watersmeet and back up via the Riverside Walk and back via the Woodland walk, all in the drizzle, then wandered around Lynmouth. Enjoyed the cottage. Very clean and well equipped. Thank your for the cream tea on arrival.

    — Jessica, Daryl & Amelia, 07 Apr 2023
  • We have a much needed restful week. Cider House has been perfect; so quiet and the most amazing views. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed. Trips to Woolacombe, Lynton & Lynmouth, Rosemoor, Walks and sitting by the sea. We tried lots of the recommended pubs, all very good. Thanks for a great week. We will be back.

    — Joy & Phil, 08 Oct 2022
  • Lovely cottage. Garden and scenery are brilliant. Weather was perfect. Visited quite a few places. Shame we have to go home. Really quiet and peaceful :) Thanks for the cream tea.

    — Kay & Andy & Pepsi the dog, 24 Sep 2022
  • Beautiful cottage, lovely base to stay at. Despite the weather, we had some beautiful walks. Loved The Valley of the Rocks. Saunton Sands & Woolacombe. So many lovely beaches that were all dog friendly. View from the cottage was stunning and the gardens are beautiful. Thank you for the scones on arrival. Very much appreciated :)

    — Jenny, Steve & Alfie ad Shona the dogs, 10 Sep 2022
  • A wonderful stay at Cider House. Lovely cream tea on arrival! A place to visit in Combe Martin is Bobbies Bakes. Wonderful cakes/bread/breakfast/take out (Fridays only). Open Wed - Sat. EX34 )LP. They are out of the town. Amazing food and great customer service. Steve and Leandra did rock climbing at Lynton with Rock & Rapid Adventures' they had an awesome time. Did a trip to see the seals with Ilfracombe Princess. Lovely couple of hours out. If you have little ones a trip to Exmoor Zoo for a couple of hours is great. Fudge shop in Combe Martin also a great place to visit!

    — Victoria, Steve and Leanda, 03 Sep 2022
  • Thank you for a wonderful stay at Cider House. Beautiful cottage, well appointed in a beautiful setting with lovely views across the rural landscape. Visited many of the locations already mentioned previously. Enjoyed some lovely walks and some family time! A refreshing change to be woken by birdsong rather than the usual hum of city commuters. W hope to return soon.

    — Sean, Sonya, Grace & Alice & Pippa the dog, 27 Aug 2022
  • Fantastic stay at the Cider House. Absolutely beautiful and two adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs accommodation find. We were lucky enough to be here during a heatwave (31 degrees!) and spent a lot of time swimming in the rivers of Exmoor. We loved Watersmeet and surrounding pools. Fantastic star gazing, lovely breakfasts on the cool shady terrace. Much fun was had coasteering at Croyde. A fab holiday in one of our favourite places in England. We'll be back.

    — John & Madeleine, 13 Aug 2022
  • We have had a lovely week in Cider House. Fab weather. The cottage is so homely. We had our 'Jolly Gins' on the patio before supper. Fantastic area. We have seen such lovely countryside and beaches. Off to the Black Venus this evening for our last meal. Really enjoyed every minute of our break and thank you Jackie for the cream tea; such a lovely touch!

    — Carol & Ken, 16 Jul 2022
  • Absolutely beautiful location. The Cider House was perfect for us all and we loved walking in the surrounding area. I had a massage with Sheila Shepherd (who came to the property) and it was wonderfully relaxing. Jackie and David were friendly and helpful. Thank you for an amazing stay at the Cider House. Had food from Tides In Tides Out takeaway in Combe Martin and ate i on the beach. Delicious food and friendly staff. P.S. Thank you for the cream tea :)

    — Alison & Jason, 02 Jul 2022
  • Stunning location for a relaxing week. Cottage perfect, tastefully furnished with everything you could need. Bed so, so comfortable and slept like logs. Plenty of places to explore close by. Weather perfect too an added bonus. Would recommend. Thanks

    — Geral, Jeanette and Harri the Spaniel, 25 Jun 2022
  • Wonderful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Cream tea on arrival was a very thoughtful touch. By far one of the best cottages we have stayed in. New to this area so lots to explore. We enjoyed all the walking and will be back again soon we hope. Thank you so much

    — Alan & Karen, 24 May 2022
  • I loved this accommodation because it was so well equipped. I loved play with my sister in the fields and garden. Thank you

    — Isla Aged 9, 15 May 2022
  • Thank you for a splendid stay at Nutcombe. Our second time and as good as ever. Love the cottage, peaceful setting and the views. We've walked miles. Especially enjoyed seeing seals on the rocks and swimming at Morte Point. Castile Hill Gardens were a delight. Enjoyed Broomhill Sculpture gardens too with a lovely lunch there. We also ate well at the Fox & Goose in Parracombe. Lovely Goan Curry on the Barricane beach too. Thank you for our ream tea on arrival :)

    — Andrew, Bev and Marley the dog, 06 May 2022
  • We had a wonderful stay at Nutcombe Cottages. We were here for a family wedding so took over all 4 houses including Elsley in Combe Martin. Was lovely to be able to socialise with everyone as well as space to ourselves. Well equipped houses with stunning views! Huge Thanks

    — The Grewcocks, 12 Apr 2022
  • We really enjoyed our four days in the peaceful surroundings of Nutcombe. For us it was lovely to revisit places from many many years ago; Woolacombe, Croyde, Ilfraombe, Lynton & Lynmouth. The cottage has everything for a comfortable break. Thank you very much.

    — Joy & Alan, 08 Apr 2022
  • Extremely comfortable and well appointed as everyone else says. I particularly enjoyed the filed of daffodils and appreciated the trees planted all around. We'll have to come back in 20 years when they're really going to look good (if only). We did a lot of walks; a large circular route around Combe Martin and over Hangman Hills. Lovely day exploring around Hunters Inn and down to Heddon Mouth and sat on the beach in the sun for a couple of hours. Today it cleared so the views were wonderful but bitterly cold. We explored along the coast above Broadsands Beach (too many steps for us to go down), lovely views though. We had a great birthday meal at the Fox and Goose at Parracombe, beautiful fresh fish. Thank for the recommendation. Lovely stay but over too soon!

    — Sally & Martin and Button the dog, 01 Apr 2022
  • Absolutely beautiful cottage, location and views. Barn is immaculate and with everything we needed. Ronnie loved your daffodil field which was stunning this week. Cream tea on arrival a bonus! We will be back

    — Lisa & Penny and Ronnie the dog, 27 Mar 2022

    — David & Michelle, 18 Sep 2021
  • Had a lovely week, beautiful area. Thank you Jackie for a cottage- everything provided you could possibly need.

    — Jean, Tony & Vincent, 11 Sep 2021
  • Lovely stay in Cider House. Very comfortable and loved the views. Great cliff top walks & Lynton & Lynmouth lovely to visit. One of our favourite areas. Great to have the dogs so welcomed.

    — Rob & Claire, 04 Sep 2021
  • Absolutely stunning location with views that are good for the soul. Thank you Jackie & David for letting us stay in your beautiful Cider House. Amazing attention to detail, including the cream tea on arrival and the doggie welcome basket.
Beautiful walks were enjoyed by all, especially the coastal path walk from a National Trust car par in Trentishoe Lane down toward Heddons Mouth and an amazing lunch at Hunters Inn (twice)! Beach and surfing days to Woolacombe and Putsborough- both dog friendly. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

    — Vanessa, Kevin, Cayla & Grtace plus Bailey the cocker spaniel, 07 Aug 2021
  • Great Cottage! Great views!! Enjoyed discovering the delights of North Devon for the first time. We hope to return.

    — Janet & Roger, 24 Jul 2021
  • Wonderful stay in the Cider House. Amazing views and a very comfortable cottage. Plenty of beautiful places to visit which are only a short drive away. Lots of dog friendly beaches to choose from. A favourite of ours was Saunton Sands. Very accommodating hosts. We hope to return soon! Many thanks

    — Charlotte, Jordan & Lily the Dachshund, 10 Jul 2021
  • This is our second wekk here having stayed the week before in Nutcombe Barn. The weather has been glorious which has culminated in many beach days at Woolacombe. We managed to fill our 14 days with so many activities for our twin 4 year olds, including trips to The Big Sheep (highly recommended for young children), Watermouth Castle (also highly recommended), Lynmouth Steam Railway, Ilfracombe boat trip and many beach days.
Fantastic food and views in such a lovely part of the world. Its a shame England lost to Italy in the European cup final but as a Spurs fan we are used to disappointment!!
Nutcombe Barn and Cider House are in such a beautiful place and thank you Jackie & David for another fantastic holiday! This is our second visit and we have booked again in July 2022. Looking forward to it :)

    — Steve & Becky & the boys, 10 Jul 2021
  • Arriving as new visitors to the area, we are leaving as North Devon fans. Thank you for providing such beautiful accommodation, inside & out.
The fudge in Combe Martin is delicious (West Country Fayre) and the rock pools are stunning. Woolacombe is now a favourite destination. Watermouth Castle is a great day out for kids. Despite a trip to A&E on our final day, we have had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

    — Amanda, Simon & Mya, 03 Jul 2021
  • We were so lucky to get Cider House for a week due to a cancellation and what a wonderful week it has been. Cider House itself is well stocked, cosy & clean with breathtaking views. After a busy day exploring, it was lovely to return to such tranquility. A little piece of Devonshire heaven! Thank you, we'll be back.

    — Rachel, Daniel, Eliza & Jack, 05 Jun 2021
  • A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. We have walked the coast path from Minehead to Velator, Braunton through all sorts of weather this week. It has been hard at times but well worth it. Stunning scenery! Thank you for the delicious cream tea on our arrival. We have enjoyed our stay very much.

    — Jill & Don, 29 May 2021
  • What a beautiful location and perfect, cosy and well equipped cottage. A relaxing break for us both with stunning scenery and wonderful walks. One could never tire of the glorious view from the window. Many thanks for the delicious cream tea on arrival, a great welcome.

    — Jane & Mark, 21 May 2021
  • What a gorgeous place you have here! Loved every moment of our weeks holiday! Our favourite places were Lynton & Lunmouth and the walk to the Valley of the Rocks from there. Heddons Mouth beach, the sea safari ride from Ilfracombe (no luck with the seals this time, but we all loved the ride itself! And of course watching the sun go down into the sea munching on our sandwiches from the top of the road on the way to Heddons Mouth (Holdstone Down).
We were so very lucky with the weather and this place offered us everything we ever wanted! We will be back :)
This place is amazing, I enjoyed our stay so much. Everything was provided. Thank you so much Lili x

    — Polla, Roy & Lili, 18 Apr 2021

  • Beautiful well equipped cottage in a peaceful idyllic setting. Good location to reach all the surrounding places to visit. Eve our beloved pooch was well catered for! Great carvery at the Pack O Cards, takeaway fish and chips from Combe Martin. Much needed relaxing break, home from home. Many thanks Jackie & David. We loved Cider House.

  • We've had a lovely week here in the Cider House and really appreciated afternoons on the patio in the sunshine after some superb and often strenuous walks. Thanks for the tips about where to walk. We generally steered clear of the coastal hotspots which were very busy. Lovely bread from the bakery in Combe Martin and delicious sausages from the deli! Thanks for a lovely holiday. The cottage was very comfortable.

  • Thank you for a lovely base, everything we could have needed; comfy bed. Putsborough Beach was the best. Some lovely walks and places to visit. View from Cider House is quite splendid. You are truly coping with post COVID19 lockdown, well done. a big THANK YOU!

  • We have enjoyed a fantastic week here. A beautiful cottage with such amazing views It worked perfectly for us with other family members staying next door in Nutcombe Barn. We enjoyed several BBQ's in the glorious weather. Rock-pooling at Lee was really good and we went to Putsborough beach for great body boarding. Thank you for the delicious scones on arrival. Nobody wants to leave! We will really miss the stunning surroundings. Thank you again for a wonderful week.

  • Had a lovely time at Cider House with so many lovely places to go. Taking the cliff railway from Lynmouth to Lynton was lovely. We also had a fab meal at The Fox & Goose. Steak and prawns were to die for! we met our parents who are staying at The Lion Inn in Combe Martin. I highly recommend the food there and the amazing cocktails for £5 (open to non-residents). Also if you don't mind a walk the journey from Braunton (Sandy Lane car park) to Saunton Sands beach is just stunning. Sand dunes and gorgeous views to the most amazing beach which due to the 30 minute walk wasn't busy on the hottest day! Just take plenty of drinks and lunch. Thank you David & Jackie. Your cottages and surroundings are stunning.

  • Felt really lucky to be here after uncertain times This was our second visit to Nutcombe, so knew what we would be missing! Thank you Jackie for the cream tea on arrival, always a good start to the holiday. Cottage is spot on with all needs catered for and I think this is the perfect location. Such a variety of places to visit on Exmoor and the beaches and what could be better than eating on the patio of an evening with the wonderful views. Must say the garden is very special. Thank you

  • Thank you for a lovely, peaceful stay in North Devon. This property is beautiful in the most scenic of surroundings with everything you could need for a self catering stay. The use of the dog garden and 3 acre field was perfect for Kevin (the dog). We used the house as a base for exploring North Devon coast, visiting Croyde & Baggy point, Woolacombe, Braunton Burrows, Saunton Sands, Woody Bay, Heddons Mouth, Bucks Mill and Clovelly. All beautiful areas and dog friendly walks. Also recommend Top Chippy in Combe Martin! We will definitely be recommending Nutcombe to friends & Family looking to stay in North Devon.

  • Thank you so much for a lovely stay at the Cider House. a lovely cottage, very comfortable and well situated to explore the area. Blessed with lovely weather. We have enjoyed our walks along the Coastal Path. We love Watersmeet and the walk to Lynmouth. Arlington Court is well worth a visit as is the Pannier Market at South Molton - such very friendly people. Will be sad to miss the lovely view from the window and have enjoyed watching the garden improvements. We moved the table here as just the 2 of us!

  • Wonderful find. Best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. We will certainly be back. Loved the views and so peaceful, we slept so well. Found some great beaches for the dog and nice places to eat. We really liked Croyde. Don't want to go home. Thanks.

  • What a lovely place in an unspoiled part of the country. Never got tired of looking at the views. How lucky you are! The cottage had everything we wanted for our get away. I think the dogs agree too! Plenty of places to see in such little time. We particularly enjoyed Lynton' what a pretty place. Woolacombe beach is always a favourite of ours also. The Galleon Tea Room in Combe Martin offers a fantastic cream tea, great portions and reasonably prices. Recommended places to visit: Lynton & Lynmouth - pretty sights and Cliff Railway. The Milky way - great fun for the children and dogs allowed. Woolacombe beach- dogs allowed on the 3 mile long sandy beach, Broadsands beach- 220 steps down with rock pools and dogs allowed. Combe Martin - rocks pools, dogs not allowed in summer. Hunters Inn= lovely walks around, dog friendly and good food. Many thanks David & Jackie for sharing a beautiful place.

Lovely walk around Lynton & Valley of the Rocks also around Lee & Morthoe. We would love to come back here and spend more time relaxing and exploring the area.

  • Lovely, well appointed cottage. Quality fixtures and fittings. Another great meal at The Kentisbury Grange. Not cheap but excellent fine dining. Great coastal and inland walking with fab lunches at the Store in Croyde which is great also for Vegans. Will probably be back very soon. P.S Al really enjoyed your cream tea on arrival. Thank you 😊

    — Jan & Al, 20 Jan 2019
  • A fantastic few days away as an extended family over the New Year. We enjoyed visiting several local beaches including Combe martin which were all wonderful. An exciting coastal walk in the fog and rain was one to remember! The three cottages were excellent with plenty of room for all. Very well equipped and safe for the kiddies of all ages, making the break most relaxing and enjoyable. The dog garden worked very well for us. Thank you for your kind hospitality, until next time!

  • Helen and I always go away around our birthdays. We love this area and always enjoy our time. My dog Bear comes along and enjoys the beach as well as lots of extra cuddles. We had some lovely meals at Ye Olde Globe Berrynarbour, Top Chippy for a takeaway and Pack O Cards for Sunday dinner. The cottage is beautiful and so comfortable. Love the quiet and a real chance to relax. The cottage is so well equipped and comfortable. I also have to say that the shower in the single room is AMAZING! I shall certainly be wanting to bring my husband here for some relaxation and peace. Thank you so much, it’s been lovely.

  • We’ve had a lovely week of baking and needlework with lots of peace, beautiful views and a very comfortable cottage. Coldharbour Mill is definitely worth a visit! Thank you Jackie for all of your help in supplying the various extras we needed during our stay.

  • Lovely comfortable cottage, the perfect location for exploring this beautiful corner of North Devon. We’ve walked and walked along leg-wobbling coast paths, beautiful moorland and various beaches. Mac the collie has run himself silly and is now in a collapsed, but happy state. Recommend the walks from Lynmouth to Watersmeet and Countisbury, Hunters Inn to Woody Bay, Holdstone Down over Great and Little Hangman and for those with lots of stamina, Morte Point to Lee Bay (be warned, this stretch of the coast path is very hilly, even for us Pennine folk!) We saw dolphins at Bull Point so we were well rewarded for our efforts. If the weather is inclement we also recommend Cleeve Abbey (English Heritage) and Dunster Castle (Nat Trust) both about 50 minutes’ drive from here. Thank you, Jackie and David, for the welcoming cream tea We may well return!

  • ‘Very late and short notice booking and how lucky we were to discover your farm! Everything was perfect and the situation sublime! The weather added to it but even without that we could have stayed in the cottage and just revelled in the scenery. The cream tea on arrival was WONDERFUL and a lovely surprise. An absolutely perfect week of rest and relaxation, for which many, many thanks. Love from the two dogs as well, Tatty and Trixie who said “Thank you for our doggy tags too” We put them back where we found them 😊

  • We have read all the comments on previous pages and we would like to say ditto to all. However, I would like to add a couple of comments: 1) Cup and Saucers! How civilized and a real pleasure. I hate mugs with a passion!!! Well done. 2) White fluffy towels. I think this shows that you really care about your guests. It’s been a real pleasure. Thank you.

  • Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage. We had a great stay and were blessed with great weather. I recommend if you have children, looking at a copy of the local paper as it has money saving coupons for attractions. We will be back again, and will be recommending your accommodation to all. Many thanks and see you again soon

  • Our third stay in The Cider House! Once again, a lovely relaxing experience. It always amazes me that even though we have been coming to this area for many years, there is still so much to see; we discovered a lovely new tea room in Selworthy with great views, quite a drive from here (near Dunster) but well worth a visit. As always, we had some great walks; Morte Point always a favourite. As for Cider House, we love the new oak furniture and the bed was seriously comfortable too. When can we move in?

    — Linda & David, 31 Mar 2018
  • The Cider House is such an amazing place to stay and was the perfect place for our mini get away to North Devon with our little one. The accommodation was superb; clean, tidy and equipped with everything you needed. It’s obvious that a lot of time and attention has been paid to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. The cream tea was such a lovely gesture as well. The location was perfect with a stunning view, but what makes it special is the attention to detail that has been given to the accommodation. It was so fresh and modern with a classic twist in keeping with its history. The furnishings were of an excellent quality, no expense has been spared. The beds are so comfy too! We would definitely love to come and stay again. Communication with Jackie was swift and efficient, making booking our stay quick and simple. Thank you

  • Lovely cottage. Quiet location. It was quite an experience being snowed in for 1.5 days, but we were snug and warm inside Cider House. Many coastal walks and excellent eating places nearby.

    — John & Pam, 17 Mar 2018
  • Back for a second time in 8 months- love this place. We had a different cottage this time but it’s just as lovely as the Barn with new furniture and a lot of TLC- well done Jackie & David. Hope to be back later this year.
